Romanian Judges’ Forum Association and Initiative for Justice Association: A number of judges and their families have been evacuated from Afghanistan with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Following the public appeal made on 16 August 2021 by Romanian Judges’ Forum Association and Initiative for Justice Association, 6 judges and one justice clerck, as well as their families, all Afghan citizens, were evacuated through the constant effort and support of the crisis unit within the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which carried out the necessary procedures to bring these colleagues under the protection of the Romanian state.

The representatives of the Romanian Judges’ Forum Association  have been constantly in touch with Afghan colleagues, whose courage was fantastic, making great sacrifices and facing major dangers in order to succeed in reaching Pakistan. As long as  saving a human life in danger is an essential duty, any effort in this respect must be supported and appreciated. In this regard, we mention the cooperation with the International Association of Women Judges (IAWJ), which have helped us to identify people in immediate danger.

We remind that for the afghan magistrates, refugees in Europe, the Initiative for Justice Association has opened an account in RON at the Romanian Commercial Bank, that can be used to donate, in order to help them considering that their resources are limited. The money are to be channeled to the evacuated Afghan magistrates.

For this purpose, bank account details are:
